  • When is the lacrosse season? Do you play year round?
The primary season is in the spring (March to June). However, PCLI runs programs in every season.

  • When does the spring season begin and how long does it last?
We begin practicing indoors at Turin Sports Dome (260 Hogan Rd, Fairport, NY 14450) the first Sunday morning of March and our season finale is usually around the first or second weekend in June.

  • What equipment do I need?
Water bottle, girl's lacrosse stick, girl's lacrosse goggles, and mouth guard. PCLI has some sticks and goggles available for borrowing. If you want to buy your own equipment, but need some advice, then contact for assistance.

  • When will I get my uniform?
Uniforms (shorts and reversible pinney) are usually distributed sometime in April before the first game, which is usually the last weekend in April or the first weekend in May.

  • Where are practices and games?
Our home field is Barker Road Middle School (75 Barker Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534). Because the fields are wide open, the wind is often blowing and it can be cold. Plan accordingly and bring an extra layer of warmth. We play away games at the fields of our opponents in various towns around Rochester.

  • When are practices?
Practices are generally two nights a week. To accommodate as many players and coaches as possible, the specific nights are determined by coaches at the beginning of each season.
Practice times during the week are usually 1 to 1.5 hours in length and will be scheduled anywhere between 5:30 to 8:00 PM.

  • When are games? Who do we play?
Games are usually on Saturday mornings, with at least one game on a weeknight due to not playing on Memorial Day weekend. See below for more information on games for each grade group.

  • What is the K-2 spring program like? What can I expect for my daughter?
This program for students in Kindergarten, first, and second grades. We have an "in-house" program which means that we generally do not play teams from other towns, although coaches might still schedule one or two scrimmages against other towns. Emphasis is on skills development and fun in line with the US Lacrosse Athlete Development Model.

  • What is the 3-4 program like? What can I expect for my daughter?
This program is for students in third or fourth grade. Emphasis is on skills development and fun in line with the US Lacrosse Athlete Development Model. Games are held on a smaller than regulation field 40 x 60 with seven field players and one goalie. We play in the Rochester Area Lacrosse League (http://www.rall.org). This league consists of teams from towns all around Rochester. We usually play 6-7 games a season, plus 1 local tournament.

  • What is the 5-6 program like? What can I expect for my daughter?
This program is for students in the fifth or sixth grade. Emphasis is on skills development and fun in line with the US Lacrosse Athlete Development ModelGames are held on a regulation field with 11 field players and 1 goalie. We play in the Rochester Area Lacrosse League (http://www.rall.org). This league consists of teams from towns all around Rochester. We usually play 6-7 games a season, plus 1 local tournament.

  • What if I can't make it to a practice?
It's understandable that you may miss a practice or two due to school commitments, conflicts with other sports, or family emergencies. However, if you are consistently unable to make practices, you are missing out on valuable training. Our coaches plan "progressive" lessons and it's important that you keep up with your teammates by attending the practices. Our season is very short and every practice matters. We hope that you have given careful consideration to the practice and game schedule and will make a decision that is fair to both you and your team.

  • What if I can't make it to a game?
Please let the coaches know as soon as possible so that they can plan accordingly.

  • What if I have a question or a concern?
You should contact your coach for answers to your questions or concerns but we ask that you are sensitive to the coach's schedule. Because many of our coaches will be arriving to practice just in time to set-up, they may not have the time for a discussion prior to practice. During the practice, the coach will be focused on the players and should not be interrupted unless you have an emergency. The same holds true on game days. The best time to speak to your coach may be immediately following practice. If you have a question requiring more than a quick response, ask your coach for the best time to contact him or her. At no time is it appropriate to discuss concerns relative to another player, coach, official or parent in front of anyone else! We are striving to create a positive environment and expect your help. You may also contact a member of the PCLI Board of Directors.
